Looking for something fun to do this summer? You are not alone, so is everyone else! Why not have a pool party and invite your family over or grab your favorite bestie and hit the water! You can’t go wrong since everyone loves a good pool party so go ahead and suit up and head on out to the pool! Just make sure you follow our 5 tips to rock your pool party this summer!

Food
You can’t have an awesome pool party without some awesome food. It’s really up to you and what kind of party you want to have but the possibilities are limitless. Grill some hot dogs, cater in from a local restaurant or just serve some finger foods like fruit and chips. Just remember each option has a different price tag and you don’t want to have a huge mess to clean so I always like to make it simple yet fun. My guests never seem to mind either! They are usually okay with whatever!

Drinks
Depending on your age and the type of party, you will need to decide what kind of beverages you will serve. No matter what you need delicious drinks, cups and ice. No one likes to go to a party, especially in the summer heat, and not have anything to drink. I always serve ice cold Dr. Pepper at my pool parties because everyone loves it! I pick it up at Walmart since I am there all the time buying everything under the sun! I love Dr Pepper because it is the perfect drink for all my summertime parties with friends . Starting 6/15/18, look for the fun and unique Pick Your Pepper packaging! It’s fun, individualized, and designed by millennials, for millennials. Do you like prizes? Make sure to keep reading until the end for some awesome prizes and rewards from Dr Pepper and Walmart.

Music
Go ahead and grab your iPhone, iPod, tape deck, whatever you need to get the tunes pumping. There are several options for outdoors nowadays with wireless options being the most popular. You will need a good mix of music to please everyone but make sure its not too loud! Your guests will want to socialize, eat and relax and don’t want overpowering music playing. I always try to put it in an area where the people can go sit if they want to hear it and the others can not.

Friends
Having a fun pool party means inviting all your favorite peeps! Decide whether your guests can bring a guest or invite others to the party and let them know! Text, call or send an Evite for your party and make sure to get an RSVP count so you can be prepared with the food and drink! You don’t want to run out of Dr Pepper as that would be a pool party no no! Make sure to invite positive and fun people so your party will be free from drama because all though entertaining at times, you don’t want a drama queen at your pool party!

Pool Stuff
I say “pool stuff” because there are so many things you will want to consider having on hand so your pool party rocks! Many people will bring their own “pool stuff” but if they don’t, you will be a hero for having it handy! Some of the things you might consider having at the party for yourself and guests are sunscreen, tanning spray, bug spray, rafts, tubes, extra sunglasses and/or goggles, hair ties for ladies and a first aid kit. If you are having your pool party at home then you will have lots of this inside so not as big of a deal but if you are renting out a pool, hosting at an apartment or a hotel pool then you will need to be prepared.

Your pool party will seriously rock and you will be the talk of the town if you follow these 5 easy tips! Don’t forget to let your guests know that they can win prizes this summer (between 6/15-8/15) from Dr Pepper and Walmart when they upload their receipts here! I would love to get my hands on the pool float or bluetooth speakers! I can use them at my next pool party for sure!
