So we have all heard of finding your mojo and losing your mojo but have you heard about Momjo?
What in the world is that, you ask? It’s simply Liat and Carolina!! They are Vloggers! What in the world is a Vlogger, you ask? : ) It’s a video blog so you don’t have to read it! You can watch and listen! Easy!
Let’s get back to what in the world is MOMJO!
Momjo (as defined by Liat and Carolina) is “more than a movement- it’s a way of life. Our goal is to inspire, empower, motivate and entertain! We want to help moms, just like you, to embrace their passions, curiosity and individuality.”
Liat and Carolina have been friends of Mom Always Knows for some time now and I am so excited to have the chance to interview them since they are super busy! They are friends, working moms to 3 kids each, passionate travelers and foodies. They have a super popular and growing YouTube Channel that you must checkout and bookmark for when you need a laugh and pick me up! They vlog twice a week and now have a website you can find here as well.
Make sure you check at the bottom of this post as I have posted some of my favorite videos from Momjo!
So without further ado….The Interview…..
How did you ladies meet?
We met at a mutual friend’s’ birthday party. We naturally gravitated towards each other and have been friends ever since.
Who came up with the idea to start a VLOG?
It was a decision we had been mulling over for a while. We began to work out together after having our third babies three weeks apart. Sweating it out at the gym, we kept talking about different things we wanted to do with our mat-leave (maternity leave) year. That’s where Momjo emerged- as a natural, mutual desire.
What are you plans for the future for your VLOG?
We agreed that as long as we are having fun, we will continue on this Momjo journey – and we are having a blast! In the immediate future, we plan to stay true to our Momjo values and keep doing things that make us feel good and happy! We recently added a new segment to Momjo called MomjoEats, in which we showcase LIVE cooking from our kitchens, recipes and more. We are excited to see where this adventure will take us next…
Tell us a little about yourself- kids? Family? Anything you want readers to know
Carolina is a journalist and passionate communicator who after years of commuting downtown to work in one of Canada’s largest TV newsrooms, decided to switch things up to be closer to her growing family. Ever since, she’s worked in marketing from her suburban Toronto home– which she shares with her three children and husband. She enjoys hopping on planes with her five-person posse, trying out new fashions and hairstyles, and is currently learning how to meditate.
Her loves: Vanity Fair, Magical Realism, Boleros (music), Blogging, Miami
Born in Israel, and raised in South Africa, Liat now happily resides in Toronto with her husband and 3 kids. Her passions for life and people are at the core of her constant quest for living her best life possible. She is the NAM Marketing Manager for a global Telecoms company, and in her spare time you’ll find her cooking up a storm in the kitchen, listening to Soca or R&B music, dreaming up future travel adventures, or reminiscing about her backpacking days in South America.
Her loves: Food, Music & Dance, Globe-trotting, People, “Aha” moments, and Laughing.
What is your favorite part about being a Mom/worst?
Our favorite part of being moms is knowing that we’re shaping– as best as we can– the lives of little humans who we hope will be able to make the world a better place. It’s such a pleasure to watch our children grow and develop into independent, loving and compassionate beings.
Now, the worst part of being a Mom is the sleep deprivation. Trying to function as a mother and professional when you’ve barely had any shut-eye feels like you’re hungover, every day.
What is the best tip you can offer a struggling Mom?
This might sound a bit cliche, but “this too shall pass” is one we go back to quite often. It’s important to remember there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel. But that being said, we should try to embrace the entirety of our journey towards that light– the good, and the bad. So try to breathe and remember to accept both the brilliant and less-than stellar moments in your parenthood journey. The good moments will become your life’s sweetest memories and the challenges will make you a better person.
What is the best Mom hack you know?
Opening a jar with a spoon is one of our favorite hacks! Instead of spraining your hand while trying to twist it open, simply turn the jar upside down on any hard surface, squeeze a teaspoon between the lid and the jar, push until you hear a pop, and voila!
Do you make time for Mom alone time/ Time out with the hubby? How important is that?
It’s imperative! Both girl-time and QT with hubby are crucial – we all need some time out for ourselves and away from our kids to rejuvenate and regroup. We try to do it regularly, but we all know how hard this is with full time jobs, kids, family or just simply being too tired! Something as simple as getting your nails done with a girlfriend, or getting take out with hubby can do wonders.
Blessings all!
