My kids ask everyday to get into the craft cabinet and get their little hands dirty! The holidays are the absolute best time to spend some time together with your kids and make some easy holiday inspired crafts! This month we will be bringing you a ton, so get ready! First up on the list is Christmas Tree Pine Cones! Some of you might be lucky enough to go outside and pick up some pine cones but if you are like me and live in Texas, we just have to pick them up at Walmart. Whatever you need to do, do it, and get ready for some fun with this holiday inspired craft for kids- Christmas tree pine cones!
I really am no Martha Stewart so this craft is simple, easy and fun. It makes a great gift for grandma or a teacher so there is actually a use for it and the kids will love that they can make their own gifts! You can even have fun wrapping them together when they are nice and dry!
Supplies:
- Pine Cones
- Glue
- Glitter
- Paint and brushes
Directions:
Set up your area. We like to cover our table with an old mattress protector(the plastic kind.) They are great for crafting. Get everything out and ready that you will need since kids are not very good at waiting around.
Paint your trees green or silver or whatever color you want it to be. The next part is my favorite, decorate! We used red, blue, orange and pink for the ornaments on the tree. It really did look like a little Christmas tree.
Tip: Talk to your kids about pine cones and Christmas trees. Make it an educational experience as well as a fun craft. The true meaning of the season is Jesus’s birth so you can always talk about that!
Next get your glitter and go to town. The glitter represents the lights on your tree so the more the merrier!
Voila, you are finished. My kids had a ball! You can even use stickers or Christmas cut-outs for the tree topper on your pine cone Christmas trees!
Have fun and Merry Christmas all! Tell us what you think in the comments!
2 Easy & Fun Educational Kids Activities- Constructing and Erupting a Volcano

This is a really neat idea. I pinned it to my Christmas Decorations board. Thanks for sharing. Also, be sure to link up with us at Literacy Musing Mondays. We love arts and crafts and educational ideas like these. I am on the Social Media Network Group too and you can find my links there to this week’s linkup.
I keep trying to get out and do this but get distracted! I may just do this later today! Love it!
