Looking for a great summer camp for the kids? I always am and my kids go to several camps a year of all kinds! I must say one of my favorite camps for them this summer has been the Challenger Sports British Soccer Summer Camp! To be honest my kids have never played soccer before so I was a little apprehensive about putting them in a soccer camp with other kids who might have mad skills but it advertised that the camp was for players of all ages and abilities so I thought I would give it a try! Boy am I glad that Challenger Sports let us attend the camp at no charge in exchange for our honest review because it honestly was a blast for my kids!
Soccer Camp for Kids
The British Soccer Summer camp is the most popular camp in the USA and Canada and I can see why! The coaches were both from Great Britain and actually come to the US to coach the game they love, Soccer. They live with host families and were great guys and coaches! They taught my kids skills, speed and confidence through a curriculum full of innovative practices and with an unique cultural and educational twist. I didn’t have to travel to Europe, Australia or Canada to have my kids learn from high-level soccer coaches either, British Soccer Camps came to us, right in the heart of my community here in DFW! We all know a coach can make or break a camp and I am happy to report an A+ when it comes to Jacob & Jarrad, the coaches we had at the camp.
There are several camps offered, depending on your area, like 1/2 day camps in the am or pm and even an hour long slot daily in the afternoon which was great for us since my kiddos were not expert soccer players and needed just a little immersement at first. They learned new skills plus even lessons in character development and cultural education. Each day, the coaches tookthe players through a progressive series of skill building practices from unopposed, to opposed, game related and finally into a game. My kids talked all week about their coaches accents and wanted to know about about Great Britain as well!
British Soccer Camp was a memorable and positive experience for us and my girls want to do it again! Since we signed up 45 days in advance we got awesome free British Soccer jersey and everyone in the camp got a free ball, camp t-shirt, action poster, and a camp report. At the end of camp, my girls got recognized with a certificate and praise from the coaches as well and if your kids are like mine, they love the praise and attention!
