Summer is here and moms already know that they need to keep their kids entertained during long (and even short) car trips. It’s all about keeping kids comfortable and safe while on the road, along with bringing some of the comforts of home. So before you head out on the road with your kids, consider stocking your vehicles with 10 amazing car accessories for Moms on the go and have a great summer full of road trips!
iPad Headrest Mount
Sure, some vehicles come complete with a TV screen and a DVD player but for those that don’t, there’s this handy iPad headrest mount. It keeps an iPad mounted firmly on the back of the front seat headrest and lets the kids watch movies or play games!
The Buckle Me Up Monitor
Although many people think that moms have eyes in their backs of their head, they actually don’t. This monitor will alert you should your kids unbuckle themselves mid-car trip and safety is of upmost importance when riding in the car and traveling.
Travel Sickness Bags
Sometimes car sickness can kick in when you least expect it. You’ll be prepared for it, thanks to these handy bags. They’re travel friendly, fold up small, and are easy to set up with a second’s notice. Let’s hope you won’t need them!
Travel Trays
It’s hard to reach into the backseat to pick up food and toys that your kids have accidentally dropped (but want in their hands right this second.) A travel tray can hold all of these things right in front of them, preventing things from falling onto the floor. These are a life-saver and also hold games, books, colors and everything they will need for the road trip.
A Bottle Warmer For Your Car
Yes, travel bottle warmers do exist. These ingenious devices don’t need any sort of electricity to work and many of them even come with an additional insulated pouch to keep the bottles warm. This is a must have if you are traveling with a baby who still takes a bottle!
A Vehicle Trash Can
You don’t want your Subaru to get dirty, do you? Kids create a lot of garbage and everything from food wrappers to discarded parts of toys can end up on the floor in the backseat. A handy car-sized trash can will keep things neater and make clean up easier after the road trip!
Chest Clip for Seat Belts
This is ideal for people with older kids who like to remove their bodies from the seat belt chest straps. Since this isn’t safe at all, you can use this device to ensure that that the strap stays put – no matter what. I love these as my kids are always taking off their chest straps while we are driving and that is not safe at all!
Car Seat Mirror
Sometimes you need to keep an eye on your kids in the backseat (well all the time.) The rear view mirror doesn’t really work for this purpose so you need to install a special car seat mirror in the front. This device hits at just the right angle and is great for all road trips. Just make sure to keep your eyes on the road and only use while pulled over or stopped.
Portable Toilets For Kids
Kids tend to need to use the bathroom immediately after you leave the rest stop so rather than have them go in a bush on the side of the road, pull out this portable toilet. We used this a lot when we were traveling and the kids were younger. Who wants to stop 10 times at nasty gas stations? Problem solved with the portable toilet!
Sun Shades
There are plenty of sun shades in the front of the car, but what about along the sides? Protect your kids from the sun by installing these on the backseat windows. I have seen really cool ones that even go up and down. They will keep your kids and your car cooler and that is a must for road trips.
Bonus Tip–Who Needs a Car Inverter?
Anyone who spends a lot of time on the road can benefit from some type of inverter. Useful on long road trips, camping, business travel, Truck drivers, and other similar applications these devices are especially useful to mom as well. Read some power inverter reviews now!
Enjoy your summer!
Excellent. Absolutely loved reading and very helpful at the same time 🙂
Some retailers may try to charge you extra where price is concerned so therefore, let them think you are an expert on the item you are buying.
I love your suggestion about getting a seat belt monitor. That does seem like a good thing for my sister to have since she has little kids. I know that she worries about her kids not buckling up.
Some cool accessories in cars involve GPS navigation system and remote starters. Which is really helpful if you like traveling and easy comfort.
