The holidays are in full swing right about now and we all know that means- parties- and lots of them! Holiday parties are the perfect occasion to relax, spend some time with your family and friends and enjoy the season. I am always up for a good holiday party and have learned over the years there are definitely do’s and don’t to party attending. If you find yourself attending a holiday gathering this year you might want to study up on the 5 do’s of an awesome holiday party guest before you go!
I have been the party host plenty of times and one of my biggest pet peeves is when people do not RSVP. Sometimes they just show up with out RSVP’ing and sometimes just simply no call no shows. Either way if you want to be an awesome party guest then please let the host know you are coming. She has many things to plan and needs to know head counts plus it’s just rude not to.
Do Bring a Hostess Gift
Behind the scenes a lot of work went in to the party you are attending! Why not show the host a gift of appreciation for putting this awesome party together! You can bring flowers, a gift card or my go-to; a bottle of Wente Vineyards Wine. Wente Vineyards wine is a great addition to the holidays and to all your holiday gatherings so whether you just bring it to the party for all or for a special hostess gift, everyone will thank you! Wente Vinyards is the country’s oldest, continuously operated family-owned winery, founded in 1883 and have a huge wine selection for you to stock up for all your holiday parties and gifting.
Nothing is worse than a party where no one is talking and mingling. You might not like meeting new people or maybe you are a little shy but if you want to be an awesome party guest, go mingle! At one of the last holiday parties that I hosted many of my guests did not know each other and no one was talking! Oh no! I was busy doing party things but I noticed a dear friend (and awesome party guest) who was walking around and talking with every group that was there and even introducing people to each other!
Do Offer to Help
We know you are there to have a good time but if you want to be an even better party guest then ask the host what she needs help with. This could be something as easy as helping her get the food out of the kitchen or sticking around after the party to help with the clean up. More than likely the host will decline your offer but you should at least still ask.
Do Act Responsibly
We all have stories from a holiday party we attended of the annoying drunk guy or Sally the slob. Don’t be the talk at the water cooler Monday morning because you made a fool of yourself at the party. In order to be an awesome party guest just act responsibly and have a great time! It’s easy to do plus your party host will greatly appreciate the drama free holiday party! Bonus Tip- never drink and drive because you don’t want to be that party guest, I promise!
This year, Wente Vineyards would like to help you close out your 2018 journey with a special gift, the gift of time.
