It also gives you a chance to bring more light into a room and direct it at specific areas.
Swap Out the Old Hardware on Kitchen Cabinets
One of the most expensive and all-consuming projects you can tackle in your home is a kitchen renovation. Sure it will offer incredible results but not everyone has the money or time to put into the project. With that said, you can still update and change the look of your kitchen in other ways. Swapping out all the old kitchen cabinet hardware for new modern hardware is an excellent and easy way to go. This is a job you can do yourself can be done for a couple hundred dollars and can give the illusion that you have installed all new cabinets. Bonus tip- Check out garage sales or thrift stores and find this hardware on the cheap!
Rearrange the Furniture
Sometimes it’s not the furniture that is making a room feel awkward or dated it can instead be about the placement. Use a critical eye in the main spaces and try moving pieces around. You may just find a better more modern way to set up the room that will have the furniture feeling brand new again and that will provide a better living solution to your family.
Freshen Up Your Window Treatments
Natural light in the home is an absolute must but sometimes the type or the fabric of window treatments you have can prevent the light from coming in. While that is certainly fine when you want privacy chances are you won’t have the curtains or blinds drawn at all times. Try freshening up the rooms with light and airy window treatments that allow that natural light to come in. Look at the current trends and update your window treatments with bold colors or patterns.
