Planning vacations can be difficult for anyone, whether planning a solo trip or a family vacation for everyone to enjoy. It’s important to take everyone’s interests, attention, capability, and so many other variables that make holiday planning seem like an uphill battle There are lots of ways, and events happening throughout the year, that are catered to suit everyone in one way or another and we have some for you! If you are planning a trip to the west coast this summer here are three child friendly summertime events people of all ages can enjoy!
San Diego Comic Con
SDCC has been a popular three day event, aimed at family fun for all ages. Don’t be put off by the name – you don’t have to be a fan of comics to enjoy yourself. It could be a book series, game (whether board game, computer game, and so on), movie or TV series, SDCC brings to life all things multimedia and art. Packed with competitions, Art shows, guest panels and chances to see and talk to your favorite actors, authors and TV directors, and even costume competitions where people can show off their best cosplays of their favorite characters, comic con has something to offer any appreciator of TV and animation, and is well worth the visit, even if no particular shows spring to mind, you may well find yourself discovering a new show or book series based on a review you listened to whilst there!
Coachella
Coachella has become one of the biggest and most widely anticipated music and arts festivals held in the calendar year, and is another family friendly event that is available for anyone. Due to its popularity, Originally known as being a rock/indie festival, Coachella has embraced a wide variety of music genres over the years, playing host to some of the most popular musicians and bands, from Ice Spice to bands such as Rage Against The Machine. There’s also fairs, various food stalls and other activities such as silent discos you can attend over the weekend long event, and as with most other festivals, the option for camping if you want to embrace the true festival culture.
LA County Fair
Originally a five day event that has now been known to span slightly over two weeks, LA County fair has become an incredibly popular annual event, and is another great experience for all ages, and embraces everything that is associated with culture in California. Completely packed with street food stands, fairground rides, zoo animals, art exhibitions and more, this family friendly get together has something for everyone. The fair has a very infectious sense of community, as they also host community days, which celebrate local heroes, involving the young talent from neighboring schools and their bands, to the selfless efforts of the California ambulance transport service, and many more.
