Being a pet owner is a big responsibility involving much more than the cuddling you see on TV because you alone are responsible for your pets whole body health!  Your pet will need trips to the vet,  vaccinations,  grooming, parasite maintenance, a quality diet and lots of exercise to ensure a long and healthy life!   A quality diet that contains certain vitamins and minerals is an important piece of the whole body health puzzle and one of the best things you can do for your dog!  I look for quality and balanced dog food for my Buster, an one year-old 100-pd black Lab,  that includes the following 11 essential minerals and vitamins to help ensure he is healthy all the way around!  Whole body health!

CALCIUM IODATE

A form of Iodine, Calcium Iodate is a mineral essential for thyroid health and production of thyroid hormones.  Found naturally in seaweed and ocean fish, Fido will need this for a healthy metabolism.

CALCIUM CARBONATE

This essential mineral aides in bone growth, teeth resilience, eyesight, and prevents clotting.  Calcium carbonate, a form of calcium, helps strengthen teeth and bones for Fido!  So important!

I like to give Buster Purina ONE® SmartBlend Chicken & Rice Adult Dry Dog Food because every ingredient has a purpose and it contains a mix of vitamins and minerals designed to bring him a balanced diet.   Calcium Carbonate can be found in all their SmartBlend favors so I can trust it is helping his teeth and bones stay strong.

POTASSIUM CHLORIDE

This mineral is a form of potassium and helps maintain fluid balance in your pet’s body.  Potassium is required by canines so their muscles, nerves and enzymes will function efficiently.

VITAMIN E SUPPLEMENT

Your dog’s diet should have Vitamin E because it is an essential vitamin that helps support their immune system!  It functions as an antioxidant ( helping to protect cells from damage caused by free radicals) and is a fat-soluble nutrient.  Good for the muscles,  circulatory system,  injury healing and even nourishing your pet’s skin and coat.

Feeding Purina ONE® SmartBlend is a difference you can see because every ingredient is combined in a smart way to make a noticeable difference in your pet’s whole body health.   SmartBlend contains Vitamin E Supplement so I am very certain that is why I can see a difference in Buster’s skin and coat.  It is so pretty and shiny right now!

NIACIN (VITAMIN B-3)

Want your dog to have a better memory?  Try Niacin!  Naturally found in ingredients like meat and fish it is essential to help your dog properly metabolize carbs, protein and fat.  Niacin can lower cholesterol and helps with the synthesis of hormones, including estrogen and testosterone.
