When life is hard the stress can eat you up inside and make it hard for you to focus on what’s important. Taking on too much or not getting to our to-do list is enough to make anyone crazy but there are many different things you can do to help relieve some of that stress and better handle some of the items on your list. Explore these six things to start doing today that will make your life so much easier.
Get organized
One of the main reasons life can be tough and stressful is because you’re simply not organized to handle it all. Becoming organized will help you stay on track, finish the items on your list and make a space that’s less chaotic. Write down a to-do list for every day so you don’t forget anything that must be taken care of. Organize closets or drawers so you know where everything is when you need it. This task will be time consuming but the end result will be so worth it.
Use professional services
With all the things on your to-do list, it’s no wonder you can’t find the time to get it all accomplished. This is when it’s a good idea to use professional services when you can. Look for ways to save time and money like opting for a meal prep company to deliver your ready-to-cook meals right to your door or a housekeeper to help with the laundry! Instead of cooking a meal for 10 when your family comes in town, find a local restaurant to cater or deliver food to lift some of the stress and workload off your plate. You can find discounts and deals for local services in your area and familiarize yourself with local businesses that are nearby by checking the reviews on Welcomewagon.com. Don’t try to do everything yourself because as the old saying goes, time is money
Ask for help
Sometimes you may not have a professional service option or it’s just not in the budget. When this occurs, don’t fret. Instead simply ask your friends, neighbors or family for help when it’s needed. Don’t try to take on everything by yourself as this will only increase your stress levels and make it harder for you to accomplish it all. By putting your pride aside and asking for the necessary help when you need it, you’ll find that you are relieving some of the stress in your life.
Plan ahead
Weekdays can be crazy with work and school so try to find some time to plan ahead. For instance can you carve out some time on a Sunday to meal prep or get lunches made for the week? This way you can just grab and go when you’re on your way out the door or you can get home from work and know there’s no prepping needed. Planning ahead is for all areas of your life too, not just food. Determine what is the most time consuming for you and find out how you can tackle it by planning ahead.
Make me time
You may feel like there’s not enough time for you to handle everything on your to-do list so how can you possibly have any time for yourself? If you look hard enough, you’ll find it. Even if it’s just 30 minutes a week, find some time to do something just for you whether it’s meditation, going for a hike or watching an episode of your favorite show. Maybe you want to just go to the gym, get a massage, or take a long uninterrupted bath. It doesn’t matter what it is just do it and do it for you because having me time is extremely beneficial to your overall health and lifestyle.
Say no
Your to-do list may be too long because you don’t know how to say no when people ask you to do something. While you don’t want to be rude sometimes you just have to say no. If a friend asks you to help them move but you really don’t have the time, politely decline. Doing this doesn’t make you a bad person, in fact, it makes you a better person because you won’t be adding to your stress levels. Start asking yourself if that specific thing you’re being asked to do is a priority. If it’s not, don’t hesitate to say no.
